Dear Parent, Student, and Educator,

This week, there is no school on Monday, April 1st. The rest of the week is a normal schedule, Tuesday –Friday, with a full day Wednesday.

News: Please see Mr. Bissen’s Weekly AD Email for updates to activities schedules/events.

Prom Information: https://www.glenwoodschools.org/highschool/sites/prom/

Thank you for getting to school earlier! We are noticing morning attendance is improving.

It is recommended that students arrive at GHS no later than 7:45am to ensure adequate time to get into the building and to classes. Our warning bell rings at 7:55am and classes start at 8am.

Conditions for Learning Survey: Glenwood Schools will implement the Conditions for Learning Survey in April. Tentatively, that date is set for April 12th.

  • Iowa public schools use this survey to improve safety, student engagement, and the overall learning environment so that all students have optimum conditions for learning.
  • Student participation is highly encouraged but no student is required to complete it.  Students may skip any question or stop taking the survey during administration.
  • Parent consent for students to participate is passive, meaning all students will be encouraged to participate unless parents or guardians sign a Written Refusal form indicating that their child(ren) should not participate in the survey.
  • Schools must notify parents and guardians at least two weeks prior to survey administration in the child’s school and be given the opportunity to review the survey.
  • To review the survey ahead of time, see these surveys: English  | Spanish

ISASP Preparations: Assembly this Wednesday –

As part of our Iowa Assessment (ISASP) preparations, we will be having an assembly this week on Wednesday, following our pep/assembly schedule.  9-11th will meet in the auditorium for an overview of what to expect for ISASP. We will celebrate those students who met or exceeded their expected growth from last year. We will also talk about our ISASP incentives and rewards.

Seniors: Class Meeting this Wednesday –

During our assembly for grades 9-11 about ISASP, Seniors will have their own meeting with counselors to visit with counselors about all things “Senior” –scholarships, graduation, transcripts, wrapping up senior requirements, etc…

Save the Date: ISASP Testing will be April 16th-19th at GHS.

Seniors will not attend during the testing window but are expected to attend their regular classes per the bell schedule.  Students who take IWCC coursework on campus will need to coordinate with the main office regarding their schedule during ISASP week and their attendance.

7:55 am Warning Bell, report to testing location
