Dear Parent and Student and Educator,

This week is a full week.  Wednesday is an early out. See below for school announcements.

Announcements:

The American Legion in Glenwood has voted to send three students to Boys State and Girls State next year.  Students who are eligible would be current juniors who will be going into their senior year.  This is a great program to learn about civic engagement and the legislative process.  It costs the American Legion $500 to send students, and it is a worthwhile learning experience. If you are interested, contact Mrs. Duitsman. https://www.iowagirlsstate.org/ https://www.ialegion.org/boysstate/

Pajama Drive in honor of Hannah Delashmutt of Glenwood

Hannah lost her fight with Cystic Fibrosis at 19 years old, on March 10, 2018. One of Hannah's favorite things to get during her hospital stays were pajamas. Help to keep Hannah’s memory alive and to bring a bit of holiday cheer to those in the hospital. Since 2018, over 800 sets of pajamas have been collected.  Looking for donations of a pair of new, unwrapped pajamas, sizes newborn through adult. The last day for donations is Monday, December 18. Donations may be dropped off at Northeast, the Glenwood Public Library, or the GHS Main Office.  Sincerely, Destiny & Kenny DeLashmutt.

Glenwood TeamMates, Glenwood Booster Club, AND Glenwood Band Parents are collaborating together to support our school based mentoring program!

These refillable popcorn buckets will be a PERFECT gift for any RAMFAN on your holiday list! Buckets will be sold at High School winter sporting events by the concession stand OR email TeamMates coordinator, Sandra Dollen at dollens@glenwoodschools.org to make arrangements for pickup! 100% of the proceeds will benefit Glenwood TeamMates to purchase games & crafts for mentoring rooms, fund parties, field trips, new mentor background checks, etc.!
