Dear Parent and Student and Educator,

We are approaching the first reteach/reassessment round for the first outcomes.  Students have received feedback information about how they did on their first outcome.  See our  HS SRG Guidebook for our reteach/reassess guidelines.

Students– pay attention to deadlines posted in the classroom and communicated by teachers.

Students who score lower than minimum proficiency(2.0) on an outcome are required to reassess until they achieve minimum proficiency.  Students who score a 2.0 (minimum proficiency/passing) or higher, have the opportunity to reassess.  Reassessment must be completed within 10 days by the student after teacher feedback has been given.  Students above proficiency must communicate their plan to reassess with the teacher how they will improve their performance.

Plan to succeed by completing all essential work.  Students and parents should refer to PowerSchool and Google Classroom to make sure all essential classwork is complete. Items marked as “missing” are not complete.  Essential work must be completed for learning and to reassess on an outcome.

Students who fall behind on essential practice work receive an “Academic Referral” and are scheduled for “Structured Study Hall” during RAMS Time for additional monitoring with making up missing work.  Students who do not complete work after this intervention are either provided with more assistance (if the reason is they do not know how to complete the work), or will be issued a behavior referral and a detention (if the student is refusing to try and will not do the work that is required).

Announcements for the Week:

High School Conferences are October 19th and October 24th from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. These are pre-scheduled by appointment and held virtually through Google Meet. We are using the app Calendly to schedule conference times. Teachers will be communicating with parents through email to schedule times.  More information will be coming your way soon!

Reminder about attendance:  Parents may only excuse students 3x per year without a doctor’s note.  This applies to all times during the day including lunchtime. We do not have an open campus lunch. Students beyond the 3 excusals, who do not have a doctor’s note or without administrative approval for missing school for approved reasons (e.g. college visit, funeral, activity, etc…) will be counted absent (even for partially missed class periods).
