The GCSF John A. Gregory Teacher of the Year program will annually recognize outstanding classroom teachers from ANY district attendance center. We would like to recognize and honor teachers who go above and beyond to meet the needs of GCSD students. Furthermore, the award aims to recognize that teachers face many challenges every day in their classrooms, and to promote public recognition and respect for the teaching profession.
One building finalist will be selected by a foundation review committee. The four finalists will be recognized along with the overall district Teacher of the Year at a banquet event on March 24th, 2026. The GCSF John A. Gregory Teacher of the Year will then be entered into the Iowa State Teacher of the Year competition. The annual winner will receive an honorarium award of $500 from John B. Gregory, Farm Bureau Financial Services, and a matching donation of $500 from the GCS Foundation for use in their classroom or content area.
The nominator (Any member of the school community including administrators, building principals, teachers, nurses, secretaries, custodians, maintenance staff, associates, community members, and parents/guardians of the district) completes this form in detail, including at least three paragraphs with explanation and examples of why this nominee deserves to be Teacher of the Year. Incomplete nominations will not be considered. The form may also be completed ONLINE at:
