Gun Raffle Logo Issue

Dear Parents,

Yesterday afternoon the district was made aware of a gun raffle being conducted by the Youth Baseball/Softball organization. While the social media posts indicate the organization is holding the raffle, the tickets indicate the fundraiser is being conducted and endorsed by the school district in how the ticket was produced using the school district's logo and printed materials. The district has reached out to a member of the youth organization's leadership and has requested that all indications that our district sponsors this raffle be removed and recommended the raffle not be guns. The district appreciates the youth sports organization and its coaches' commitment and dedication to developing our young athletes and partnering with the district on facility use and other functions; however, we can not endorse guns as a raffle item for a fundraiser for youth sports.
