We have some exciting news to share! 🎉 Mrs. Yates, Mrs. Nanfito, and Mrs. Diekmann's writing classes partnered with Sugar Makery for a sweet twist on learning! 🍭📚 Students crafted persuasive letters, which included the name, ingredients and why their new Monday Munchie idea was the best,. Sugar Makery owners, Alexis and Malcolm McCue, read all the letters and selected three winners! 🌟 Grady's "Nerd Pop" will be featured on May 6th, Lilly's "Cheeto Corn" on May 13th, and Kaislee's "Rainbow Explosion" on May 20th! 🌈🎉 Congrats to our winners! Swing by any Sugar Makery location (Glenwood, Council Bluffs, Shenandoah) to taste these treats! 🍬✨ Huge thanks to Alexis and Malcolm McCue for making this delicious journey possible again this year! 🙌

Earlier this Spring, several of our Instructional Coaches, ESP Teachers (Education Support Professionals), and Administrators participated in the CEC- Council for Exceptional Children National Convention in San Antonio, Texas. At the convention, our Glenwood Team, comprised of Megan Wake, Julie Mullen, Tami Bertini, and Cindy Menendez, delivered a presentation titled "Better Together: Fostering Collective Efficacy in Special Education Through Instructional Coaching." The conference primarily focused on two key areas: inclusive leadership and mental health. Each year, the CEC Convention & Expo brings together thousands of special education professionals from across the globe for learning, sharing, and networking. With an extensive array of sessions covering various topics in the field, this event stands out as the premier professional development opportunity for special educators seeking practical research, tips, and strategies applicable to supporting students with disabilities and/or exceptional talents. The convention boasted over 4,000 attendees, including teachers, administrators, professors, students, and para-educators, all eager to engage with the 500+ sessions and 2 keynote presentations offered.
