The next GHS blood drive is Friday, June 2nd from 10:30-4:30 in the HS cafeteria. Our graduating seniors are trying to reach the maximum scholarship amount and need your help. The Glenwood Middle School Yearbook class spent their class period Monday sorting and organizing yearbooks to hand out on Friday. Students from Melanie Howard's yearbook class have worked hard on creating a yearbook that includes every single student in the school inside. They will be handing out yearbooks in the gym where students and teachers can sign their books and enjoy looking through the year's memories. There are a few extras up for grabs if you did not get yours! Contact the Middle School office.

Reminder that tomorrow is Chromebook turn in day at the Middle School. Please help your student remember to charge the device, bring the chromebook, charger, bag, and tag to school. Thank you!

Ms. Phillip's class enjoyed their last community outing by practicing their map reading skill while on a scavenger hunt around the square. Some of their stops included the Glenwood Library, Young Vision, Round Table, Bucksnort & Sugar Makery. It was a great way to end a fantastic year of learning!

Open Teaching positions for the 2023-2024 school year!

The month of May means that middle school students are talking about the importance of integrity. Mr. Miller's class meeting group was able to participate in a balloon challenge this week. Students were tasked with keeping the balloons in the air as long as they could. The only catch is that they could not use their hands to keep the balloons up! It was up to students to act with integrity and not use their hands to help. This proved to be a fun challenge for all.

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, the Student Sunshine Committee is hosting FUN morning games in the gym before school starts. Today was "Wrap up the School Year!" Mr. Berke, Mrs. Buckingham, Ms. Miller and Mrs. Mitchell selected four students to race against each other in who could wrap up the teacher the fastest.

Super Hero Food Service Workers!!! Between preparing delicious food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, Glenwood school nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. Last Friday we celebrated all their hard work and commitment. This day, celebrated annually since 2013, was designated by The School Nutrition Association and Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series. School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to nearly 30 million of America’s students each school day. School nutrition employees must balance many roles and follow numerous federal, state and local regulations to ensure safe and healthy meals are available in schools. School Lunch Hero Day provides the opportunity for the community to thank these hardworking heroes for their dedication to fueling our students for success. Federal nutrition standards ensure that school cafeterias always offer low-fat or fat-free milk, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. School meals also meet limits on calories, sodium and unhealthy fats. The importance and nutritional value of school meals are well documented. Mrs. Tallmon's 5th Grade TAG students and their parents attended the middle school's after-school TAG Robotics Extension Program! Multiple students signed up for next year's program already! There is a second TAG Robotics Orientation on Fri., May 5 from 3:45 - 4:30.

In a week full of ISASP testing, Mr. Miller’s 8th grade class got to spend a little time outside enjoying the nice weather this week. While outside, they read part of their latest novel study book together. This is the third novel study this group of students has done this year. They are currently reading the second graphic novel in a two-part series for “The Graveyard Book”. It was a great afternoon combining reading and the great outdoors!

Following the state release of our football schedules, comes the announcement of our Homecoming dates for 2023 and 2024.  The 2023 Homecoming date will be September 15th, 2023 The 2024 Homecoming date will be October 4th, 2024

Glenwood has four winners this year for the Grand Aerie Children's Art Contest for 2023!
