Ms. Jones using a number rack with students to practice finding the missing number in addition equations. Students use their own created with beads. Number racks (also known as rekenreks) facilitate the natural development of children’s number sense.

Mrs. Benson's First Grade Students work hard on phonics using manipulatives that represent each sound (phoneme) they hear in a word. This strengthens students' phonological awareness. A strong foundation in phonological awareness prevents reading difficulties later.

Over 300 educators gathered at the University of Northern Iowa to participate in professional learning to help expand computer science education across the state.
Mrs. Shamani Langille participated in learning Python Coding, which she is teaching to the TAG Robotics students.

Northeast Homecoming 2023 Memories


Northeast preschool teachers and associates participated in professional development on Wednesday, September 13. The early childhood team learned strategies to promote high engagement, common expectations and best practices with classroom routines. The professional development was facilitated by Julie McMullen, NE Assistant Principal and Ami Leath, Green Hills AEA Early Childhood Consultant.
