Join us in celebrating SEL Day on March 8, 2024 and the work that our GCSD Social Emotional Liaisons do to support students and families in our district. Social and emotional learning is important in cultivating self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Thank you Miss Hansen, Mrs. Briley, Mrs. Tadin, and Miss Burgess for contributing to the success of our students!

MS March Madness Tonight! Come watch the 8th grade basketball players play against GCSD staff in the middle school gym. Doors open at 5:30pm and tip off is at 6:00pm.
Admission is $3.00 for students and $4.00 for adults. The concession stand will be open and there is a MS student dance after the game that ends at 8:30pm.

As we commemorate International Social Emotional Learning Day, we’re highlighting how SEL cultivates self-awareness and self-esteem in students, helping them recognize their strengths, values, and areas for growth.
SEL fosters a positive sense of identity and confidence along with real-world social skills! 💡

We’re proud to recognize International Women’s Day! Let's continue to support and uplift one another, fostering an environment of equality and respect for all. Together, we strive for equality & inclusivity in every aspect of society. #IWD2024

Our latest episode dropped yesterday with Dr. Lang talking about the teacher recruiting trail and our Instructional Coaches.

Congratulations to Mr. Spieler's first hour class for winning Round 3 of the Middle School's Attendance Challenge. GCMS is recognizing first hour classes with outstanding daily attendance every two weeks to motivate students to attend schools.

On Tuesday, the Revenue Purpose Statement on the ballot for Glenwood CSD fell a little short of being approved by voters.
We know this result is not a reflection of the support of our community for our schools. Rather, the RPS renewal simply was not a good fit at this time.
The Board of Education and administration will look for alternative solutions to address our facility needs, and we will seek the community’s input and engagement as we move forward with this process.
Thank you for your consideration of the measure on the ballot.
Welcome Sonia!

The Glenwood Community School District receives more than $2.5 million annually in statewide one-cent sales tax funds (SAVE) to support facility improvements and other projects.
On Tuesday, March 5, our community will consider renewing the Revenue Purpose Statement to allow the district to leverage future SAVE dollars to support programs like Kids Place, THRIVE, and more.
A renewed RPS will not increase property taxes, affect the sales tax, or create a new tax.
