January Northeast News (1)

Sunday, January 1, 2023

A note from Mrs. Salazar and Mrs. McMullen:

Dear Families,

Happy New Year!  We are excited to have the student back at school and hope everyone had a good break.  On the first day back from break, staff will be working with students in each grade level to reteach and practice Northeast PBIS expectations.

The end of the second quarter is on January 13th which will quickly be here.  Teachers will be gathering assessment information to complete report cards. It has been exciting to see the growth of all students during this first semester! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teachers.

With winter temperatures, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. On most days, students will go outside for recess. Northeast uses the Child Care Weather Watch Chart developed by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Please reach out anytime with questions or concerns,

Ashlie Salazar and Julie McMullen

A few things to remember:

  • There is no supervision before 7:45 am at Northeast. Students should not be dropped off before 7:45 am.  This includes the Vine Street doors.
  • Use Vine Street for pick-up if you are not waiting for a student from West. Vine St. is safe and efficient running from 3:00-3:15.
  • Lower lot pick-up is at capacity. If you use lower-lot please use extreme caution when pulling in or out.
  • We want to keep everyone healthy so it is important that when your child is sick that they stay home from school.  Students should be fever free for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
