Northeast Friends and Family,

Happy December! Hard to believe that we are already in the Holiday Season and the weather is making it hard to remember that winter is quickly approaching. Students have been working hard and learning so much the past few months, we are very proud of the growth of all of the students and hope that you are as well! This past month we had a wonderful assembly celebrating our students and recognizing Ram Pride students that showed outstanding acts of responsibility. This month and the month of January we are going to be focusing on Respect. We encourage you to talk with your students about ways to be respectful at home and out in the community! We look forward to a busy couple of weeks as well as having an attitude of kindness and giving as we move towards the Holidays.

Important dates:

Early out Wednesdays (dismissal begins at 1:00): December 1, 8, 15

No School Winter Break: December 20 - January 2

Winter Parties: December 17th (Once again, we are asking parents to send crafts and games but are not able to have visitors join the parties due to COVID concerns)

Preschool Winter Program: December 16th

December events and things to remember:

LOVE Tree: Love tree program is currently accepting applications for the Christmas program to help families during this time. Please see attached application if you are interested. Vicki Bird at 712-527-3546

Winter parties: Winter parties will be held on Dec 17th at a time determined by the teacher. Please remember that due to Covid concerns we are not able to allow friends and family to join us again for the party. You are encouraged to send simple crafts, and games for the children to do. Individual snacks that are peanut safe are also acceptable.

Winter Clothing: Please remember that we do go outside for recess as long as the “feel like” temperature is above 10. This means we ask that students please wear a heavy jacket, gloves and hats as well as appropriate pants and shoes. Please make sure to label everything, lunch boxes, coats, mittens, hats etc! We have a lot of items in our lost and found!

Eating Lunch with your student: We recognize that eating lunch with your student is a special time and we want to ensure that we can do this safely. We encourage you to come for your students' Birthday or Half Birthday.

Illness: If your child is feeling ill, or has symptoms of Covid 19 we ask that you please keep your child home. Remember to call the office, or fill out the online absentee form before 8:30am if your child is sick, or being quarantined.

Water bottles: Water fountains will still be closed this year, however we do have water bottle fillers so please remember to send a water bottle with your student so they have access to water throughout the day. The water fountains are no longer available so it is important to send a water bottle with your child.

Change in Transportation: Please remember if you need to change your child’s after school plans please call the office prior to 2pm. If the change is in regards to bussing you also need to call the transportation office as well at: 712-527-4116.

Food from home: Please remember that we are a peanut safe school. This means that any food brought into the school for parties or snacks in the classroom must be peanut free.
