Welcome to the Middle School for 2022-2023

I am as excited to be starting my 14th year as principal at Glenwood Community Middle School as I was for my first year! GCMS is a place in which we strive to create an environment in which all staff and students are provided the opportunities and support they need to reach their full potential.

Again this year, the MS will be implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) in an effort to foster an environment that is more predictable and effective for achieving academic and social goals which should change our school culture for the better.  Our building-wide expectations are intentionally implemented and supported through our PBIS implementation plan.

The MS staff understands the unique learning needs of adolescents and incorporates engaging strategies into the learning.   Our staff also understands that some students may require multiple opportunities in order to master the content.  For this reason, we have an intervention time built into the schedule so teachers can provide needed support.  This year, we will also be offering enrichment opportunities during this time.
