Schedule of Events

There are many events going on throughout homecoming week. We welcome back everyone and hope you can enjoy many of the scheduled events.

Monday

Spirit Week
HS: Jersey Day
MS: Comfy or Hawaiian Day
West: 3rd: wear Red, 4th: wear White, 5th: wear Blue

Tuesday

Spirit Week
HS: Bikers vs Surfers
MS: Team Day or Teacher Dress as Students and Students Dress as Teachers
West: Wear Hats

Wednesday

Spirit Week
HS: USA Day
MS: Disney Day or Crazy Hat/Hair Day
West: Wear your Crazy Socks

Thursday

Spirit Week
HS: Blast from the Past Day
MS: Decade Day or Cowboy/Alien Day
West: Crazy Hair Day

Pep Rally: :10:05am

Booster Club Lunch: 11am-1pm at Activities Complex
Parade: 1:30pm
Jim Hughes Real Estate: Free Family Fun 2-5pm
Outcast Tailgate: Keg Creek following the parade
Game: Freshmen 4:15pm, Varsity 7:00pm
Fireworks: Unfortunately, due to shortage of inventory because of Covid 19, there will be no fireworks this year.

Saturday

Coronation
7:00pm, in the High School Gymnasium
Tickets are $5 at the door, can be purchased in advance from Concessions at VB game Sept. 16th

Homecoming Dance
Doors open at 7:45
Begins at conclusion of Coronation until 10:30
$5 at the door, non-Glenwood Students must be pre-registered
Portraits by Amy will be taking photos

3rd Annual Homecoming Street Dance: Open at 7pm, 1st and Vine Streets, Featuring Matt Cox and the Marauders, Music starts at 8pm

Glenwood Fire and Rescue Overnight Meal: Sat./Sun., Sept. 18-19th 10pm-3am, Biscuits and Gravy, Pancakes, Sausage

Sunday

Glenwood Cross Country Fried Chicken Dinner
11am-1pm in the High School Cafeteria
Cost is $10

Homecoming Parade

Friday, Sept. 17, 1:30pm on the Square

"Decades" Parade sponsored by the Glenwood Homecoming Parade Committee begins at 1:30pm Friday, September 17th
Parade Route: Starting at the corner of 1st and Vine, proceeding around the North, West, and South Side of the Square.
Register a Float or Banner by contacting glenwoodhomecomingparade@aol.com
Float Registration must be submitted by 5pm, Sept. 14th, Online registrations only
Drop-off students riding floats starting at 2nd and Vine extending north
Pickup for those riding a class float: Northeast students along Sharp St. near Police Station. West students at ballfields on Vine St. south of the square
Grades K-2 will have classroom floats, Grades 3-5 will either walk with a banner or have a float, Grades 6-12 will create grade level floats

Homecoming Game vs Harlan

Game starts at 7:00PM

Freshman Kickoff at 4:15
Choir performs National Anthem
Varsity Kickoff at 7:00
Band performance at Halftime
Dance Team performance at Halftime

Fireworks

Canceled for 2021

Unfortunately, due to Covid causing supply issues, the fireworks will not take place this year. We hope to return to this tradition next fall.
