West Elementary Vocal Music

Overview Of West Elementary Vocal Music

West Elementary Music challenges students to continue to build on what the students have learned at Northeast Elementary.  Since music is taught in sequential order, the students continue adding new notes and rests that widen their musical horizons.  The students are exposed to more two and three part harmony in songs.  They are also introduced to new musical styles.

Students also continue with the “Guidelines For Success” as their guide for behavior expectations.  These are used not only in the classroom, but also at programs the students perform or attend.  We begin each day by singing “The Star Spangled Banner” and reciting “The Musician’s Pledge”.

Meet Mrs. Tronson, West Music Teacher

Mrs. Tronson is our vocal music teacher.  She has a B. A. Degree from the University of Sioux Falls and a M. S. in Education Degree from Northwest Missouri State University.  This is her 37th year of teaching.  Thirty six years have been in Glenwood.

Mrs. Tronson and her husband Merrill will be celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary in August.  They have three grown children who live in Omaha.  Her favorite hobbies are singing duets with Merrill, cake decorating, sewing, and bird watching.

I look forward to meeting your child/children!  Together we’ll “Keep On Singing”.
