ZERO TOLERANCE GUIDELINES

Under the terms of the Zero Tolerance Guidelines developed by the school district and the local law enforcement authorities, students who violate rules or policies will be subject to guidelines developed by the two groups. Students involved in fighting, student-to-student harassment, possession of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or weapons will be referred to local law enforcement authorities at the discretion of the school administration.  The following guidelines will apply to students in grades 7-12.  School officials will make notification to parents in a reasonable length of time.

FIGHTING OR HARASSMENT
If there is a physical or serious verbal confrontation, an investigation will be conducted by the building administrator. If the building administrator determines that the above confrontation did occur and it could have further serious consequences, law enforcement authorities will be notified

SUBSTANCES (Drugs or alcohol possession or usage including possession of drug paraphernalia.)
Students in possession or use of alcohol or drugs will be referred to law enforcement authorities.

TOBACCO USAGE
Students will be referred to law enforcement authorities when in possession of tobacco products on school property or at a school activity.

WEAPONS
Students in possession of a weapon or dangerous object will be subject to suspension or expulsion. Law enforcement authorities will be notified.
