Internet is a Privilege
Not a Right!

Students Using Computers Must:
  •  Have permission
  •  Be monitored
     by a staff member
  •  Use for educational or
     enrichment activities
     only!

Forbidden Activities
  •  Email
  •  Chat sessions
  •  Newsgroups
  •  Instant messaging

Usernames & Passwords
  •  Do not access other’s accounts
  •  Do not tell your password
  •  Log off every time you leave the
     computer

Internet Violations
  •  No pornographic material
  •  No gambling
  •  No harassment
  •  No illegal activities
  •  No breaking of school rules
  •  No ordering of anything online
  •  No downloads
  •  No off color material

  •  Do not reveal any information about yourself or others!
  •  Name
  •  Address
  •  Age
  •  Phone Numbers
  •  Email Addresses

Accounts
  •  Are not private
  •  Can be accessed by
      tech administrators
  •  Are monitored
  •  Can be questioned by
     any staff member

Downloading Files
  • No downloads without permission.
  • This includes:
  •  Programs
  •  Games
  •  Music
  •  Video
  •   Radio channels

Computer Settings
  •  Changed only by computer teacher
  •  Tell staff if accidental
  •  Tell staff if found when logging in
  •  Do not change anything without
     permission

  •  Students name:  first name and
     last initial
  •  Only with parent permission
  •  Must follow copyright
     permissions

M Drives
  •  Should be kept clean
  •  Are monitored
  •  Accessed only by
     owner or tech administrator

Intentional Equipment Abuse
  •  Charged for repairs and parts
  •  Could be up to $90.00 per hour
  •  Extra laser printouts 10 cents per page

Consequences
    •  Warning
    •  Tech suspension – 20 days
    •  Tech suspension – 3 months
    •  Tech suspension – 1 year

      •  Can include additional consequences by school administrators
      •  Tech suspension includes all computers, printers,
         graphing calculators, cameras, etc.
      •  Parents will be notified
