THEFT
In addition to being subject to in-school and/or out-of-school
suspension, a student who is involved in a theft of any nature will be required
to make full restitution for property which has been stolen.
WEAPONS POLICY
In March of 1995, the Glenwood Board of Education adopted a
new policy (501.8) pertaining to weapons.
The important points in this policy are as
follows:
 |
Any student found in possession of a dangerous object or
weapon will be suspended or expelled. A knife of any
size may be considered a dangerous object.
|
 |
Students bringing a firearm on school property or to a
school-sponsored activity shall be
expelled
for not less than 12 months and will be referred to law enforcement
authorities.
|
 |
The term "firearm" includes any weapon which is
designed to expel a projectile by the action of an
explosive, the frame or receiver of any such weapon, a muffler or silencer
for such weapon; or any explosive, incendiary or poisonous gas.
|
 |
The principal may allow authorized persons to display
weapons or other dangerous objects for educational purposes, as long as
prior approval has been given. |
If you have any questions regarding this policy, contact your
building principal for clarification or more information.
