Those students who are assigned a locker will be issued locker numbers as soon as school begins. These lockers are loaned to students by the school so they will have a place to keep their books, school related materials, and outside garments. The lockers remain the property of the school and may be searched by school personnel in either the presence of the student or at least one other person and/or a drug sniffing animal at any time. No locker changes are allowed without office approval. Padlocks owned by the students may be used to secure their lockers. If the keys to the lockers are lost and no other access to the locker is found, the locks will be cut by school personnel. The school will not issue padlocks. LOCKER SEARCHESSchool Officials may periodically inspect all or a randomly selected number of lockers without prior notice. Any inspection of lockers shall only occur either in the presence of the student(s) whose lockers are being inspected or in the presence of at least one other person. A locker inspection may be accomplished by using such methods including, but not limited to, a visual search of lockers by school officials, or others hired at their direction, or a drug sniffing animal.
